These terms apply to the Speed For Sport app. By using the app you (and, for users under 18, your parent or guardian) agree to them.
Speed For Sport scores your sprint: you record a run with the phone's camera, the app analyses your technique on the device and gives you a score, an estimated top speed and coaching feedback. Around that sit leaderboards, head-to-head challenges, a community feed, a coaching desk, a directory of sprint coaches and a shop. It is a coaching aid, not medical advice — train sensibly, in safe spaces, with adult supervision for younger athletes.
Sign in with Google, Apple or an email address and password. You must be 13 or over; where the law where you live requires it, a parent or guardian must confirm by email before you appear publicly in the app. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Manage account → Delete my account, or by following Delete your account.
Every run is free and scored. A free account sees a short sponsor message after each scored run; it can be skipped once a short countdown ends, and sharing the app from it gives 24 hours without one. Sponsor messages are the same for everyone in your country (an advertiser may choose the countries an ad runs in; your phone's country setting decides) and are never selected from anything else about you. Time without sponsor messages earned from referrals, the verified-selfie tick or a video review is added to your account and runs out on its own. Membership is a monthly or annual subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play at the price shown in the store, and removes sponsor messages while it lasts. It renews automatically at the price shown, charged to your App Store or Google Play account, until you cancel it in that store's subscription settings; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep membership until the end of the period already paid for. Refunds are handled by the store under its rules. Users under 18 should only buy membership with a parent or guardian's permission. Scoring is for real training: an account that scores an unreasonable number of runs in a day may be asked to wait until the next.
Adults may advertise in the app from Settings. Advertising is governed by the separate advertising terms: every ad is checked before it runs, nothing is bought in the app, and the month's views and clicks are invoiced by email in pounds sterling.
Shop prices are shown in pounds sterling and delivery is within the UK. Placing an order or requesting a coaching service (a written coach review, a video call or an in-person assessment, at the prices shown in the app) is a request: no payment is taken in the app. We contact you through the coaching desk to arrange payment, and a request can be cancelled until it is paid. Physical products are subject to normal UK consumer rights; printed-to-order items cannot be returned for change of mind.
A challenge is decided by the higher top speed recorded in the app; equal speeds draw. When you send a challenge you run there and then; the other athlete has 24 hours to run, or the challenge lapses. A run counts against your runs allowance in the usual way. You can turn challenges off in Settings, decline any challenge, and report or block another athlete.
The community exists so athletes can encourage each other. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour: no bullying, hate, harassment, sexual content, violence, or spam. To keep the community safe:
Content you post must be yours to share. Posts and comments stay in the community after you delete your account, shown under your leaderboard name.
Coaches listed in the directory are independent businesses, not employees of Speed For Sport. Contacting one sends your message through a relay that keeps your email address private and filters contact details from replies; anything you agree with a coach is between you and them. You can block a coach at any time.
Video reviews are for over-18s only. By sending one you agree to the wording shown in the app, which we store, allowing Speed For Sport to share it publicly to promote the app. You can withdraw it in Settings at any time.
Don't misuse the app: no attempts to cheat scores, access others' data, reverse-engineer the service, or disrupt it.
The app is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for injury arising from training decisions, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
